What This Means for Ecommerce

If you're not on Amazon, you're invisible to AI

Two-thirds of AI shopping answers mention Amazon. Brands selling only DTC through Shopify are missing the primary AI discovery channel.

Product schema is the #1 visibility lever

Brands with structured product data (JSON-LD, detailed feeds) appear more frequently because AI can parse their catalog.

Multi-brand retailers beat brand stores

Nordstrom, Zappos, and Best Buy outrank Nike, Apple, and Samsung because AI values breadth of selection over brand loyalty.

WooCommerce and BigCommerce: zero mentions

When consumers ask about ecommerce platforms, only Shopify (6%) registers. The rest of the platform ecosystem is invisible to AI.
